Cristiano Ronaldo says some Manchester United players lack the right mindset.

Cristiano Ronaldo has delivered a blunt assessment of his former club, Manchester United, suggesting that some of the team’s players lack the right mentality to restore the club to its former glory.

In a new interview with Piers Morgan on *Piers Morgan Uncensored*, the 39-year-old forward expressed disappointment over United’s current state, describing it as “sad” to see a club he still holds close to his heart struggling to find its identity.

Asked about current manager Ruben Amorim, Ronaldo said he believes the Portuguese coach is doing his best under difficult circumstances but warned that no one can perform miracles.

“He is doing his best,” Ronaldo said. “But what are you going to do? Miracles? Miracles are impossible. As we say in Portugal, ‘Miracles only happen in Fatima’ — and he’s not going to do miracles. They have good players, but some of them don’t have in mind what Manchester United really is.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner added that he remains doubtful about the club’s ability to return to its former dominance any time soon.

“For me, I’m sad because of the club. It’s one of the most important in the world and one that I still have in my heart for obvious reasons,” Ronaldo said. “You need intelligent and smart people to build a foundation for the future — like Manchester United did years ago. Nicky Butt, Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Beckham — they became big players but they had structure and vision.”

“Right now, Manchester United don’t have that structure. I just hope it changes soon because the potential of this club is incredible. It’s one of the most important clubs of the century.”
