Egypt national team head coach, Hossam Hassan, has thrown his full support behind Mohamed Salah following the forward’s recent outburst at Liverpool.
Salah started on the bench for the third straight match under Liverpool boss Arne Slot during the 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday — a decision that left the 32-year-old visibly frustrated.
After the game, Salah admitted he felt “bruised and hurt” by his continued demotion. He went further to accuse someone within the club of attempting to push him out, while also stating he has “no relationship” with Slot.
In a show of solidarity, Hassan took to social media to stand by Egypt’s biggest star. He shared a photo of himself with Salah, captioned: “Always a symbol of determination and strength.”
Salah is expected to join his national teammates this weekend as Egypt begin preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
