Argentina and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández has pulled out of international duty due to a lingering knee injury that has bothered him for the past four months.
In a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on X, Enzo explained, “I was just talking to the medical team because I’ve had a problem with my knee for the last four months. I will not be available with Argentina.”
The 25-year-old has been an integral part of Argentina’s midfield, admired for his calmness on the ball, precise passing, and strong defensive play.
His absence comes at a challenging moment for Lionel Scaloni’s side as they gear up for upcoming international fixtures and friendlies. The coach will now need to reshuffle his options to cover the gap left by Fernández.
Enzo featured in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday before confirming his withdrawal from the national squad.
