Judge to decide if Diddy will be released today while he awaits sentencing.

Diddy’s legal team is requesting the immediate release of the music mogul while he awaits sentencing.

This request comes shortly after a jury found Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty on Wednesday, July 2, of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, proposed that Combs be released on bond the same day to return to his Florida home. Each count carries a potential 10-year prison sentence.

“Is your proposal that Mr. Combs leave the courtroom and walk outside?” asked Judge Arun Subramanian.

“That is my proposal,” Agnifilo responded.

Judge Subramanian instructed both sides to submit written statements by 1 p.m. before deciding whether Combs would be released.

Since his arrest by federal authorities in September 2024, Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Earlier on Wednesday, the jury—after beginning deliberations on Monday, June 30—acquitted Combs of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

Throughout the 29-day trial, prosecutors presented testimony from 34 witnesses in an effort to depict Combs as the head of a vast business network used to facilitate criminal activity, including coercing women into sex acts involving male sex workers.

Among the many witnesses were law enforcement officers and celebrities such as rapper Kid Cudi and singer Dawn Richard. The most extensive testimonies came from two of Combs’ former partners—Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and a woman referred to as “Jane”—who detailed what they described as “Freak Offs” and “Hotel Nights.”

Ventura further alleged that Combs raped her toward the end of their 11-year relationship.

The defense chose not to call any witnesses, instead arguing during cross-examinations that the encounters were consensual and that there was no proof of a criminal enterprise.

Combs, now with greying hair, continues to face multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct. He has repeatedly denied all allegations.
