Nottingham Forest have confirmed that head coach Nuno Espírito Santo has signed a new contract extending his stay until 2028, following a remarkable season that saw the club return to European football.
Since his appointment in December 2023, Nuno has orchestrated an extraordinary transformation. Taking over with Forest sitting 17th in the table, he led them to a seventh-place finish last season—their best in 30 years—securing a spot in the UEFA Conference League for the first time since 1995/96.
“I’m thrilled to continue our journey at this incredible club,” Nuno told the club’s official website. “The unity between the players, supporters, and staff was key to everything we achieved.”
Under Nuno’s leadership, Forest stunned champions Liverpool with a win at Anfield—Liverpool’s only home defeat of the season—and he earned three Manager of the Month awards, the most by any coach during the 2024/25 campaign.
Nuno also expressed gratitude to club owner Evangelos Marinakis, highlighting their close working relationship: “From the beginning, we’ve shared a strong connection, which has been vital to the progress we’ve made.”
Forest will open their 2025/26 season at home to Brentford on Saturday 16 August, as they prepare for their return to European competition under Nuno’s continued guidance.
