Former Super Eagles captain, Sunday Oliseh, has urged Victor Osimhen to make a swift move to the English Premier League or risk missing out on a golden opportunity.
The 1996 Olympic gold medallist shared his thoughts on social media on Wednesday, commenting on the Napoli striker’s uncertain transfer situation.
“Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad. He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry or he risks so much regret! Man. United and Arsenal need this player if only…..” Oliseh wrote on his X handle.
His remarks come as Osimhen’s long-anticipated move to the Premier League appears increasingly unlikely, despite his strong goal-scoring record and a recently reduced release clause.
Napoli have reportedly lowered their asking price for the 26-year-old to €75 million, but Premier League clubs have yet to make a serious move. Manchester United, previously linked with the striker, are now prioritising Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, while Arsenal’s interest has cooled due to other transfer targets.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Turkish club Galatasaray have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Osimhen, having submitted a formal offer and agreed personal terms with the player.
Negotiations are ongoing between Galatasaray and Napoli, although the Serie A side is insisting on a one-time payment of the full €75 million release clause.
Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal are also monitoring the situation and are reportedly willing to meet the financial demands, but Osimhen is believed to prefer remaining in Europe.
Fabrizio Romano, in a recent YouTube update, stated that Manchester United’s chances of landing Osimhen were slim from the beginning, citing the player’s high wage expectations and his comfort with life in Istanbul following a previous loan spell.
