by Admin

Nigeria ranks seventh globally and first in Africa for international students in the US, according to the 2024 Open Doors Report on International Education Exchange. The US Embassy revealed that 20,029 Nigerian students enrolled in US institutions for the 2023/2024 academic year, marking a 13.5% increase from the previous year.

This record-breaking enrolment contributes to the total of 1,126,690 international students in the US, the highest number in history. Nigerian students make up a significant portion of this group, with over 55% pursuing graduate studies.

The growth in Nigerian student enrolment highlights the strong educational ties between Nigeria and the US, fostering mutual understanding and global collaboration. Sub-Saharan Africa remains the fastest-growing region for international education, with a 13% increase in student mobility this year.
