A FIFA-licensed agent, George Gardi, has dismissed recent reports linking Victor Osimhen with a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, amid growing interest in the Nigerian striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
Gardi, who facilitated Osimhen’s loan move to Galatasaray in January, continues to play an active role in the player’s career, with the upcoming summer expected to be another decisive moment.
Osimhen’s loan from Napoli is set to end at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, and several top European clubs are already vying for his signature.
Recent rumours in Turkey suggested that Gardi was in negotiations with Al Hilal regarding a potential transfer. However, the agent has firmly denied those claims.
“These reports are completely unfounded. Victor made a commitment when he joined Galatasaray — he wouldn’t engage with any club before the season concluded. And despite receiving tempting offers, he has honoured that promise,” Gardi stated.
“Moreover, with a player like Victor, it’s not about being taken anywhere. The biggest clubs in the world are after him — he doesn’t need help forging his path.”
Following a failed move to Chelsea last summer, Osimhen remains a strong target for Premier League clubs. Manchester United and Chelsea are currently viewed as frontrunners for his signature, with Arsenal also reportedly considering him in their search for a top striker.
Italian giants Juventus are said to be exploring a move for the 2022/23 Serie A top scorer, although Napoli are determined to block any potential transfer to their domestic rivals.
Reports indicate that Napoli may be willing to reduce their €75 million valuation to facilitate a move to Manchester United while simultaneously avoiding a deal with Juventus.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray are reportedly eager to retain Osimhen and are considering making significant efforts to do so — although convincing the striker to remain may prove challenging.
Since joining the Turkish Super Lig side, the 26-year-old has scored 29 goals and registered six assists across all competitions for Okan Buruk’s team, as interest in him continues to grow across Europe.
