US will support Ukraine’s security, details still being worked out – Trump

by Admin

U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed America’s commitment to supporting Ukraine, while clarifying that specific security guarantees have not yet been addressed.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump stressed that questions over potential security guarantees remain a major obstacle to ending Russia’s war in Ukraine.

He revealed that during his August 15 meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, the two leaders discussed the possibility of reducing their nations’ nuclear arsenals once the Ukraine conflict is resolved.

“We would like to denuclearize. It’s too much power, and we talked about that also. That’s part of it, but we have to get the war over with,” Trump said.

When asked why Putin has been unwilling to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, Trump replied: “Because he doesn’t like him.”
