Arsenal are preparing to sign on-loan Napoli forward Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window, with a bid of around £65m in the works, according to Italian outlet TuttoJuve.
The report states that the North London club are ready to trigger Osimhen’s €75m (£61m) release clause, aiming to secure the forward, who has contributed 27 goals this season (22 goals and five assists) across all competitions.
Osimhen added to his tally on Sunday, scoring a brace—including a penalty—in Galatasaray’s 3-3 draw against Kasimpasa.
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu also reported that Arsenal are attempting to hijack Manchester United’s move for the Nigerian striker.
The Gunners are targeting a new centre-forward this summer following injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.
Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, is not expected to return to Napoli’s Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, with just a year left on his contract.
