The Finnish national team defeated the Danish national team in the opening match of Euro 2021 group B. Joel Pohjanpalo scored Finland’s first goal at a major tournament but held back the celebration because of Christian Eriksen.
Before the end of the first half, Inter Milan attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed and was administered urgent medical attention on the field. The match was suspended in light of his injury. Denmark players formed a circle around the Danish midfielder as he was given CPR.
