Judge dismisses $100M judgement in Diddy case involving Michigan inmate.

by Admin

A Michigan judge has overturned a $100 million default judgment against rapper Diddy in a case where he’s accused of sexually assaulting a current inmate.

The judgment was issued last week after Diddy, 54, failed to respond to a lawsuit filed by Michigan inmate Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith.

Cardello-Smith claims Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted him in 1997 after they met at a party near Detroit.

Diddy’s lawyer argued the rapper was not properly served with the lawsuit under Michigan law.

The rapper is now expected to request the case’s dismissal. During Wednesday’s hearing, Judge Anna Marie Anzalone noted that Diddy is likely to win as the statute of limitations has expired, according to TMZ.

Cardello-Smith is serving up to 75 years at the Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility for first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping charges from 2008 and 2019.

Meanwhile, Diddy was arrested Monday in New York City on federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges. He was denied bail and transferred to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.

His lawyer appealed and requested bail be set at $50 million, which a judge denied on Wednesday.

The hip-hop mogul is also facing multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual abuse and trafficking.
