Controversial American rapper Kanye West has asserted that he pioneered “every style of music” that has held a dominant position in pop culture over the past twenty years. He suggested that he was responsible for the creation of trap, drill, contemporary R&B, and basement music.
Furthermore, he claimed that his musical innovations influenced the styles of his peers such as The Weeknd, Drake, Travis Scott, as well as Future and Young Thug.
According to Daily Loud, Kanye West stated, “I created this genre. I created Weeknd’s genre, Trav, Drake. I’m gon’ head and say it with all love Future and Thug also.”
