Kylian Mbappé has withdrawn from the France national team camp and returned to Madrid after developing inflammation in his right ankle, team officials confirmed on Friday.
In a post on Friday, Fabrizio Romano reported, “Kylian Mbappé leaves France camp and returns to Madrid due to inflammation in his right ankle.”
The severity of the issue has not yet been revealed, leaving uncertainty over whether the injury will impact Mbappé’s availability for Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures.
Mbappé recently scored a brace in France’s 4–0 win over Ukraine in their World Cup qualifier.
France will continue their training camp without the 26-year-old forward, while Real Madrid’s medical staff monitor his condition in the coming days.
Earlier reports noted that Mbappé dismissed the milestone of reaching 400 career goals, stating that his ambitions in football extend far beyond personal records.
