by Admin

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have retained their 36th position in the latest FIFA World Ranking, which was released on the FIFA website on Friday, August 16, 2024.

In Africa, the Falcons continue to hold the top spot, with South Africa’s Banyana Banyana trailing behind them.

The Falcons had a disappointing performance at the summer Olympics in Paris, finishing last in their group, which included Olympic finalist Brazil, Japan, and world champions Spain. They lost their opening match 1-0 to Brazil and suffered a similar defeat against Spain. Their game against Japan also ended in a 3-1 loss, marking a disappointing return to the Olympics.

Meanwhile, the United States, the Paris Olympic champions, have reclaimed the number one spot globally, while Spain has fallen to third place.
