‘My family has a generational jinx; nobody reaches the age of 80’ – Obi Cubana

by Admin

Popular Nigerian businessman and socialite, Obinna Oyiegbu, better known as Obi Cubana, revealed that no one in his family reaches the age of 80.

Obi Cubana mentioned that his late mother attempted to break this generational jinx but unfortunately couldn’t, as she passed away at the age of 79.

In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwu, Obi Cubana explained that his family decided to host a grand funeral ceremony for their mother because she was unable to break the jinx.

He stated, “In my family, nobody has lived up to 80 years, and I’m saying this for the first time. My father died at 66, my grandmother died at 75, my grandfather died at 78, and the trend continued with my mom.

“All my siblings are married and successful, and we were hoping for my mother to break this generational curse. We even began saving up for the kind of party we would throw for her, a celebration like no other. But she passed away on December 31 at the age of 79, shortly after turning 78.

“So, I said, she made it to 79 and a half, so we gathered everything to celebrate her, at least; she tried and almost broke the jinx. That’s why we went all out for the burial.”
