The Senate, on December 3, confirmed the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the Chief of Army Staff.
The confirmation came after the Senate considered the report presented by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua (Katsina Central), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
The upper chamber unanimously adopted the committee’s recommendations.
Lieutenant General Oluyede had been serving as the Acting Chief of Army Staff following the illness and passing of Lieutenant General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
