Real Madrid cruised into the Copa del Rey last 16 with a commanding 5-0 win over fourth-tier Deportivo Minera on Monday.
Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Arda Güler scored in the first half, while Luka Modric and Güler, with his second goal, completed the rout in the second.
Carlo Ancelotti rested key players ahead of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, with Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior coming on as second-half substitutes.
Valverde opened the scoring early with a volley, followed by Camavinga’s header in the 13th minute. Güler added a third after cutting in from the right, aided by a deflection.
In the second half, Brahim Díaz hit the post before Modric curled in a neat fourth. Güler rounded off the scoring late on, finishing a setup from Fran García.
Earlier in the competition, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid secured comfortable wins, while defending champions Athletic Bilbao narrowly advanced on penalties against third-tier Logroñés.
The draw for the next round is set for Wednesday, with matches scheduled between January 14-16.
