Actress Francia Raisa, who donated a kidney to Selena Gomez in 2017, has spoken out about rumours of tension between them after she didn’t attend Gomez’s recent wedding to **Benny Blanco.
In a new interview filmed at a bookstore event, the 37-year-old clarified that talk of a falling out was nothing more than “rumours.” Speaking in Spanish, Raisa sent her best wishes to Gomez, saying, “I know she’s getting married, and I’m very happy for her. She has a life, she’s already a billionaire, and I’m grateful that I could do that for her.”
When asked about organ donation, Raisa compared the experience to giving to charity: “If you donate a dollar to St. Jude, you don’t call to ask what they did with your dollar. It’s a donation—it’s something nice I was able to do. I’m grateful to be alive and to say I’ve saved a life.”
She also dismissed claims that she was angry with Gomez over how the singer managed her health after the transplant, saying, “That’s nonsense that’s been in the media. I’ve never said anything. No one knows what’s going on, and neither she nor I are talking about it. Maybe one day we will.”
Raisa added that organ donation can sometimes be “more difficult” for women, though she didn’t elaborate further.
