94-Year-Old Adedapo Idowu Registers for 2025 UTME

A 94-year-old man, Adedapo Idowu, has registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to fulfil his long-held dream of studying Political Science at the University of Ibadan.

Idowu completed his registration at the JAMB Professional Test Center in Ibadan, Oyo State. The 2025 UTME registration began on January 31, and JAMB recently announced that over 700,000 candidates have registered so far, including 11,000 underage applicants.

Speaking on his decision, Idowu shared that his initial fears about pursuing higher education at his age were eased after a smooth registration process. His story was highlighted in the latest JAMB bulletin.

“I can now achieve my dream, even at this advanced age. The registration staff gave me a sense of belonging through their warm reception,” he said.

He also encouraged other candidates to embrace professionalism and contentment in their academic journey.

Pa Idowu’s story has sparked debate on X, with many Nigerians expressing mixed reactions.
