The founder of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has announced the suspension of marriage plans for his 21-year-old adopted autistic daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, the cleric said the decision followed an overwhelming response of over 1,000 applications from prospective suitors, adding that the process has been paused pending further notice.
“Chiemeka Chibuzor’s wedding is hereby suspended,” he wrote, noting that no further steps will be taken until he issues new directives.
Earlier in the week, the pastor had offered financial incentives and welfare guarantees to any man willing to marry her. He also outlined conditions, stating that interested suitors must be young and physically and mentally fit.
The proposed benefits included lifetime financial support, free housing, a jointly owned property, and periodic welfare checks by ministry staff.
The development comes after a similar arrangement by the cleric, in which he facilitated the marriage of a non-verbal autistic man, known as Aboy, to an older woman in a ceremony held on March 29.
