Paris Saint-Germain have been crowned UEFA Champions League winners after a commanding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in one of the most one-sided finals in recent history.
From the opening whistle, PSG dominated the clash at the Allianz Arena in Munich, with their star-studded squad rising to the occasion to deliver the club’s first-ever European title. The emphatic win also completes a historic treble for the French champions, who had already secured the Ligue 1 title and a domestic cup.
Inter Milan, meanwhile, suffered a second straight defeat in a Champions League final. Unlike their spirited performance against Manchester City a few years ago, this time they struggled to match PSG’s intensity and quality.
PSG struck early, taking the lead in the 12th minute when Desire Doue calmly squared the ball for Achraf Hakimi to slot into an open net. Out of respect for his former club, Hakimi kept his celebration muted.
Just eight minutes later, PSG doubled their advantage on a lightning-fast counterattack. Dembele fed Doue in the box, whose effort deflected off Federico Dimarco and found the back of the net.
Inter had a chance to pull one back before half-time through Marcus Thuram, but his header went wide. Meanwhile, PSG could’ve extended their lead as Dembele and Kvaratskhelia both missed clear chances, with the Parisians firmly in control at the break.
In the second half, Inter tried to mount a response after manager Simone Inzaghi made early substitutions, but any hope was dashed when Doue netted his second of the night with a composed finish just past the hour mark.
Kvaratskhelia added a fourth before teenager Senny Mayulu came off the bench to score with only his second touch, sealing PSG’s triumph and the largest winning margin in a Champions League final.
