Galatasaray’s General Secretary, Eray Yazgan, has hinted at the possibility of signing Ademola Lookman in the next transfer window.
The Turkish giants had previously targeted Lookman during the summer but pulled out after Atalanta demanded a steep €60 million fee for the 28-year-old winger.
Speaking at an award ceremony, Yazgan was asked about the “Lookman transfer” and responded, “We have a great squad right now, it’s quite enough. As I said, we are building on it. We will definitely continue to build as our coach desires and needs.”
Lookman, the reigning African Footballer of the Year, is expected to leave Atalanta following another fallout with the club.
The Nigerian international went on strike earlier this year after a failed move to Inter Milan. Although he was later reinstated, tension resurfaced during last week’s Champions League clash against Marseille when former coach Ivan Juric grabbed his arm after substituting him—an incident that saw both men separated on the touchline.
Juric has since been sacked and replaced by Raffaele Palladino, but Lookman’s future at Atalanta remains uncertain. His contract with the Serie A club runs until June 2027, meaning any potential deal will require a major financial commitment.
