The 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony lit up Paris on Monday night, honouring some of football’s brightest stars, with Arsenal forward Viktor Gyökeres and Spain manager Luis Enrique among the standout winners.
Gyökeres, who shone last season as Sporting Lisbon’s leading striker before his summer switch to Arsenal, claimed the Gerd Müller Trophy as Best Striker of the Year, outscoring some of Europe’s finest forwards to secure the award.
Spain’s Luis Enrique capped off an extraordinary year by lifting the Men’s Johan Cruyff Trophy for Best Coach, having guided his side to Euro 2025 triumph. On the women’s side, England boss Sarina Wiegman received the equivalent coaching honour.
In goalkeeping, Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, Manchester City) won the Men’s Yashin Trophy, while Hannah Hampton (England, Chelsea) made history by securing the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy.
Rising talent also took centre stage as Barcelona’s prodigies dominated the Kopa Trophies — Lamine Yamal named Best Young Male Player and Vicky López winning the women’s accolade.
For Club of the Year, Paris Saint-Germain topped the men’s category, while Arsenal Women earned the women’s crown.
The glittering gala showcased the global reach of football excellence, with Arsenal, Barcelona, PSG, and Spain’s national team standing tall as some of the evening’s biggest winners.
