Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has resumed first-team training, club coach Liam Rosenior confirmed.
Disasi, who joined Chelsea from Monaco on a six-year deal, had fallen out of favour under former coach Enzo Maresca. Both Disasi and Raheem Sterling had trained separately after failing to secure moves away from Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline.
Speaking on Tuesday, football journalist Fabrizio Romano shared Rosenior’s comments: “I had a really good meeting with him. I told the players it’s a clean slate for everyone, and it was right for me to speak with him. He’s behind on fitness, and we’ll work with him.”
The 26-year-old French defender had been absent from full training for some time, and Rosenior confirmed the coaching staff would support him to rebuild his match fitness and reintegrate him into the squad.
Chelsea will monitor his progress closely ahead of upcoming Premier League fixtures, aiming to have him available once fully fit.
Rosenior’s update marks a positive step for Disasi as he works to regain full fitness and reclaim his place in Chelsea’s starting lineup.
