Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has said Ousmane Dembélé would be a deserving winner of this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Speaking to TNT Sports after PSG’s dominant 5-0 win over Inter Milan in Saturday’s Champions League final, Enrique praised the 28-year-old for his standout performance—even though the French winger didn’t score.
“I’d give the Ballon d’Or to Ousmane Dembélé,” Enrique told reporters. “The way he defended tonight… only that can be worthy of the Ballon d’Or. This is how you lead a team: goals, titles, leadership, defending, and the way he pressed.
“Ousmane is my Ballon d’Or. No doubts at all.”
Dembélé, who is now seen as one of the top contenders for the award alongside Barcelona duo Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, finished the season with 33 goals and 15 assists across all competitions as PSG secured a historic treble.
