by Admin

As reactions continue to trail the musical feat of the duo of Burnaboy and Wizkid who won their first GRAMMY on Sunday, DIASPORA GLITZ MAGAZINE hooked up with Finland based Afrobeat sensation, Calebin who is also from Nigeria to know what he has to say about the new kids on the block.

Where has Calebin been?

I have been around bro, working and enjoying my holiday.

Please share your knowledge on how COVID-19 is affecting the music industry?

COVID-19 has affected the music industry so badly, artists not able to travel, meet with their fans, no gigs, everything is been on pause because of Covid-19.

Has Covid-19 affected you in the area of music?

Yes it has affected me and also helped me. I was affected because we had some big projects (music collaborations with Afrobeat A lists Acts) which we were supposed to complete the video shoots and put them out but we couldn’t because of the situation the world is facing right now! others too. It helped me to take a break from my busy life, 5years working, traveling, music recording without taking a break but I am happy I have finally recovered and ready to get back to it 100 % as soon as we can.

Burnaboy and Wizkid winning the Grammy awards, what does it mean for Afrobeat music in Africa?

It’s a very big win for Afrobeat and Africa as a whole because Africans works very hard & the best at whatever they do. I am very happy the world is starting to understand that Africa & Africans deserves more. It gives a very big hope to the upcoming Afrobeats artists in Africa & Diaspora and feels happy that our music & culture is now recognized & appreciated all over the world. Like I said, Africa is the future of the world!

Is ClabMusic working out something behind the scene?

We have been working & creating some good projects and soon we would start unleashing.
Expect some dope things…!
DBG
Peace out!
