Burna Boy has made history as his I Told Them… tour has been confirmed as the highest-grossing tour ever by an African artiste.
Tour-tracking platform Touring Data announced that the tour earned $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold across 22 shows in Europe and North America.
“Burna Boy’s I Told Them… is officially the highest-grossing tour by any Afrobeats artist in history, with $30.5 million from 302,801 tickets sold in 22 shows,” the platform stated.
In addition to the overall tour record, Burna Boy set a new milestone for a single live performance by an African artiste. His London Stadium concert on June 29, 2024, grossed $6.147 million from 58,973 tickets, making it the highest-grossing single concert by an African act to date.
A breakdown of the tour’s earnings shows that North America contributed $15.19 million from 152,378 tickets sold over 16 shows, while Europe brought in $15.27 million from 150,423 tickets sold across six shows.

The milestone further reinforces Burna Boy’s global impact and underscores the rising commercial power of Afrobeats as a major cultural export from Africa.
Despite this achievement, the all-time record for the highest-grossing music tour is still held by Taylor Swift, whose Eras Tour generated around $2 billion from 149 shows over 21 months, surpassing the previous record set by Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
