The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now begin on Monday, February 3, 2025, instead of the previously scheduled date of Friday, January 31, 2025.
This update was shared by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Friday, January 31.
Dr. Benjamin explained that the shift was necessary to allow the Board to make essential adjustments to its registration templates. These changes were prompted by the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as communicated to the Board by the Council for Legal Education.
He also revealed that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive practices to gain approval, requiring further scrutiny and disapproval of such centres.
“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” he added.
The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are implemented for a smooth registration process.
