Bitcoin reaches $87K as crypto prices surge

by Admin

Bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies saw strong gains in Monday’s early trading, with Bitcoin reaching approximately $87,480—a 3.71% increase. Ethereum also climbed 4.05% to trade at $2,093.

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization rose 2.94% in the past 24 hours to $2.84 trillion, reflecting strong investor confidence despite concerns over upcoming U.S. tariffs and key economic data.

XRP, Cardano, and Dogecoin gained 3%, 2%, and 3.8%, respectively, while Chainlink, Avalanche, Hedera, and Stellar saw growth between 3% and 10%.

“Bitcoin is holding above $86,000 with a 3% gain today. If it breaks the $86,700 resistance level, we could see a push toward $90,000,” said Vikram Subburaj, CEO of Giottus.

Bitcoin’s market capitalization surged to $1.727 trillion, with dominance rising to 60.73%. Its 24-hour trading volume jumped 93% to $18.2 billion, while stablecoin transactions made up 94.74% of total crypto trading, reaching $57.58 billion, per CoinMarketCap.

Solana Shines Amid Market Rally

Solana surged over 7% in the past 24 hours, surpassing $139. Reports that President Trump’s April 2 tariffs may be more targeted than expected eased market concerns, fueling the rally.

Solana’s adoption continues to grow, with its total value locked (TVL) reaching 54.87 million SOL—the highest since June 2022, per DeFiLlama. A record 11.09 million addresses now hold SOL, and over $72 million in assets have recently moved from Ethereum to Solana.

Institutional interest is also rising. Volatility Shares launched two Solana futures ETFs (SOLZ and SOLT) on Nasdaq on March 21, while major asset managers like Franklin Templeton and VanEck have applied for spot Solana ETFs.

Meanwhile, BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes remains bullish on Bitcoin, predicting, “The Fed’s policy orientation could push Bitcoin to $110K before a retest at $76.5K.”
