Libya has deported 48 Nigerian women and two children back to Nigeria.

The repatriation was carried out by Libya’s Department for Combating Illegal Migration (DCIM) with support from Nigeria’s consular services and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The returnees were flown out through Mitiga International Airport.

Migrant Rescue Watch confirmed the development in a statement on X, stating, “DCIM repatriated from Tripoli with consular and IOM support 48 #migrant females with 2 children of Nigerian nationality via Mitiga Int. Airport.”
