Napoli reduces Osimhen’s asking price to £85m.

by Admin

Calcio Mercato reports that Napoli has yet to receive any offers for Victor Osimhen. The club is now open to considering proposals around £85m, down from the initial £100m release clause, in order to sell the Nigerian striker this summer.

Rumors in Italy suggest that Napoli is willing to discuss a player-swap deal with Manchester United. The deal would involve sending Mason Greenwood to Napoli while Osimhen moves to Manchester United.

Despite interest from various clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, no team has shown a willingness to trigger Osimhen’s release clause. With Manchester United potentially interested in acquiring Osimhen, a part-exchange deal involving Greenwood could be on the table.

Manchester United are looking to offload Greenwood in the upcoming transfer window. The 22-year-old had a successful loan spell at Getafe and has attracted attention from clubs like Juventus and Lazio. Napoli’s Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna, reportedly holds Greenwood in high regard, making a potential swap deal more likely.

According to La Repubblica, Napoli is open to including a technical player in the deal to reduce the cash component and maximize their return. The club sees Greenwood as a valuable asset, especially considering his resurgence at Getafe following past allegations. Manchester United’s decision to move on from Greenwood, coupled with Osimhen’s desire to play in the Premier League, may pave the way for a significant trade
