Nigerian singer and rapper Oladotun Alade, widely known as Dotman, has shared his emotional struggle since relocating from Nigeria to the United States.
The Star Life crooner took to Instagram to express deep regret over his move, revealing that life abroad hasn’t been as fulfilling as he had hoped.
“Today, I regret ever deciding to leave Nigeria and move to the US. I have been struggling so much in silence. I haven’t seen my kids for about two years now,” he wrote.
Dotman’s experience sheds light on the emotional toll that relocation can take, especially on public figures.
In recent years, many Nigerian celebrities have chosen to settle abroad—names like Asake, Eldee, Dr. Sid, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Rita Dominic, Tacha, Uche Jombo, and Emeka Ike are just a few who have made similar moves.
Dotman’s heartfelt post is a reminder that success abroad isn’t always as glamorous as it seems—and that sometimes, the cost of being far from home is greater than expected.
