Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala has dismissed rumours suggesting she is planning to retire from international football.
Speaking to journalists after Nigeria’s 3–2 win over Morocco in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final, Oshoala addressed the speculation, saying, “I don’t know where that came from, but agenda must agend. I get it, but I’m not bothered. I’m still here. I’m still playing. I’m still doing my job. That’s what I’m focused on.”
The 30-year-old, who made Nigeria’s final 23-player squad for the tournament, played a supporting role throughout the competition.
Oshoala began her international career in 2013 and has made history by scoring in three consecutive FIFA Women’s World Cups—becoming the first African player to do so.
She has now won four Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles with the Super Falcons: in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024. The six-time African Footballer of the Year continues to be a key figure in the team.
