Manchester United have reportedly begun discussions with representatives of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the club ramps up efforts to secure a high-profile forward ahead of next season.
According to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Osimhen—currently on a dry loan from Napoli—has impressed during his time at Galatasaray, scoring 33 goals and registering 8 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions. Despite his outstanding form, a permanent move to the Turkish club is unlikely due to financial limitations.
The report notes that while a stay in Turkey appears doubtful, Osimhen is drawing strong interest from the Premier League, with Manchester United already engaging with his representatives as they explore attacking reinforcements.
The 26-year-old, born in Lagos, has also attracted interest from Saudi clubs, including Neom. Last summer, Al Hilal reportedly submitted a €50 million bid, which did not materialise. However, this time, Osimhen is said to favour a move to England over a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Securing the forward won’t come cheap—Osimhen is reportedly seeking a €12 million annual salary, a figure only a few Premier League clubs can manage. Still under contract with Napoli, his transfer fee is expected to exceed €75 million including bonuses.
Manchester United, dissatisfied with their current frontline, are keeping Osimhen in consideration should they miss out on primary target Victor Gyökeres. Liam Delap of Ipswich is also on their radar.
