France Football, the organisers of the Ballon d’Or awards, are set to introduce a new rule starting this year.
With just over two weeks remaining before the ceremony on October 28, speculation continues to grow about who will take home the prestigious prize.
Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior is widely expected to claim the award, beating out strong contenders like Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and Rodri.
Vinicius played a key role in helping Los Blancos secure the LaLiga and Champions League titles last season.
However, according to Mario Cortegana, a correspondent for The Athletic, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner will not be interviewed by France Football prior to the event, breaking from tradition.
Cortegana reports that the winner will only find out they have won when the envelope is opened during the live ceremony.
