Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, a well-known cross-dresser, has confirmed his “temporary” departure from Nigeria, stating it was necessary for his “sanity and health.”
In an Instagram post on Monday, he wrote, “Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health.”
Bobrisky also expressed frustration with recent travel disruptions he encountered, which he attributed to certain local security agencies. He called on KLM, the airline involved, to refund him for two unused business class tickets, each costing N9.8 million.
“Imagine buying a business class ticket three times; only one was successful. KLM, I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. I know it’s not your fault, but it’s fine,” he added.
He further addressed critics, saying, “Before you come to my page to type nonsense, check your account balance if you can afford three business seats, not to mention buying it three times. Well, I’m not in Nigeria, so your comment means nothing.”
Bobrisky’s departure comes shortly after his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He had been stopped from boarding a KLM flight to Amsterdam at Murtala Muhammed International Airport last Thursday, with the intention of traveling to London.
He alleged he was injured during the incident and was subsequently taken to EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he was questioned regarding allegations of bribing officials with N15 million to drop money laundering charges. He was released on bail after reportedly denying the bribery claim in his statement.
