Nigerian football legend Mutiu Adepoju has expressed confidence that Victor Osimhen has what it takes to break Rashidi Yekini’s record as the Super Eagles’ all-time top scorer.
Yekini, a former Vitoria Setubal striker, holds the record with 37 goals, while Osimhen is tied for second place with 23 goals, alongside the legendary Segun Odegbami.
Adepoju believes the 25-year-old Osimhen will surpass his former teammate on the top scorer list.
“Osimhen has all it takes to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju told SuperSport. “He’s a very committed player, gives everything for the national team, so it’s very possible for him to break Yekini’s record.”
