Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has shared insights into the early days of her career.
The ‘Essence’ singer revealed that she was extremely naive when she first started in the music industry.
Speaking in an interview with Glamour Magazine Germany, Tems admitted that it took time to figure out how to navigate the industry in a positive and healthy way.
“I won’t lie. I was very naive at the beginning of my career – I just wanted to create good art. I had to learn how to navigate the music business in a healthy way,” she said.
Tems also expressed gratitude for her support system, highlighting her management and family as her foundation.
“My management and my family, especially my mother and my brother, are the ones who keep me grounded,” she added.
