Yomi Fabiyi claims that Mohbad’s brother demanded N3m to release a video of the late singer and his wife fighting.

Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has claimed that Adura Aloba, the brother of the late singer Mohbad, demanded N3 million from him in exchange for a video showing Mohbad and his wife, Wunmi, fighting before his death. Fabiyi alleges the video captured the moment when Wunmi pushed Mohbad down the stairs, causing him to break his neck.

The actor made these allegations during a press conference in Lagos. He said, “Around 4:23 pm, Adura Aloba, Mohbad’s younger brother, sent me a direct message after watching me for a while and reacting in the comment section. When he realised I might not see the message in time, he wrote in the comment section, asking me to check my DM.”

Fabiyi continued, “He offered me a video of a fight between Mohbad and his wife, Cynthia, and demanded N3 million. He further explained how the altercation led to Mohbad falling down the stairs and hitting his head, which could explain the bent neck in the late singer’s casket.”

Fabiyi requested proof of the video’s existence, and Aloba sent a 3-second, partially censored clip. After reviewing it, Fabiyi confirmed there was a violent argument in the background.

The actor filed a petition with the Lagos State Police Criminal Investigation Department but was later invited and told that Mohbad’s brother was being impersonated. Fabiyi also discovered that the investigation into Mohbad’s death was disorganised.

Mohbad, who tragically passed away in September 2023, was involved in controversy surrounding his exit from Naira Marley’s Marlian Music label, citing alleged contract disputes. His death sparked speculation, with accusations directed at his wife Wunmi, Naira Marley, and his associate Samlarry, who was seen assaulting Mohbad in a viral video before his death.
