British-Nigerian boxing superstar Anthony Joshua has surpassed England football captain Harry Kane and heavyweight rival Tyson Fury in wealth, with his net worth now standing at an impressive €232 million, according to the newly released Sunday Times Rich List.
The two-time heavyweight world champion’s fortune grew by €24 million over the past year, rising from €208 million to €232 million. Joshua now ranks 24th among the richest under-40s in the UK.
Despite his financial success, Joshua isn’t the top-earning athlete on the list. That honour goes to golf star Rory McIlroy, who tops the chart with a staggering €304 million—up from €263 million last year. McIlroy’s recent Masters win, which completed his career grand slam, earned him €3.68 million and pushed his total PGA Tour prize money beyond €117 million.
Joshua’s climb up the rich list puts him ahead of Kane, who ranks 38th with a net worth of €117 million, and tennis legend Andy Murray, who sits at 35th with €128 million.
Though ‘AJ’ hasn’t fought since a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley last September, his income remains strong. While an immediate rematch was expected, minor injuries delayed the plans. Still, Joshua’s recent earnings are substantial—he reportedly earned around €35 million for his knockout victory over Francis Ngannou and banked approximately €29 million from the Dubois fight, including pay-per-view revenue.
In 2024, Tyson Fury was named the highest-paid boxer by Sportico, taking home $147 million (€137 million)—with $140 million (€131 million) from fight earnings and $7 million (€6 million) from endorsements.
Joshua, however, continues to shine in the endorsement space, tying with Jake Paul as the highest earner from brand deals in boxing. Even so, he ranked 30th on the list of highest-paid athletes in 2024, earning a total of $60 million (€56 million), with $50 million (€47 million) coming from fight purses and bonuses.
