Eddie Hearn has left the door open for a potential Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua showdown, hinting that the unexpected bout could still happen before 2026.
Jake Paul was originally scheduled to fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis in Miami on November 14, but the match is now in serious doubt following a civil lawsuit against Davis over allegations of battery and kidnapping.
In response, Paul’s camp, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), announced an investigation and the search for a new opponent. In a statement, MVP said it was “reviewing the details to ensure any decision is thoroughly vetted” and reaffirmed its stance against violence, adding that no further comments would be made until the review is complete.
With Davis likely out, several names have surfaced as possible replacements — including Ryan Garcia, Edgar Berlanga, and even Anthony Joshua. Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn was asked about the possibility of a Paul vs Joshua fight and responded with a teasing: “Just let me know where.”
Hearn recently stated that Joshua is unlikely to fight again before the end of 2025 but didn’t completely rule it out. “Never say never,” he said. “He’s already four or five weeks into camp and pushing to fight. We’re mainly focused on a February return, but if something changes, who knows?”
Joshua last entered the ring in September 2024, suffering a defeat to Daniel Dubois at Wembley. If he doesn’t fight again this year, it will mark the first time in his career that Joshua goes an entire calendar year without a bout.
