Galatasaray Accelerate Plans to Sign Victor Osimhen Amid Fenerbahçe Competition
Galatasaray’s ambition to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent deal from Napoli is gaining momentum as they find a sponsor willing to cover 70% of the transfer fee.
According to Turkish outlet *Milliyet*, the reigning Turkish champions are negotiating to reduce the €75m transfer fee to €70m, citing previous payments. The club has engaged two major companies in Turkey, one of which has agreed to cover the majority of the fee, leaving Galatasaray to handle the remaining 30%.
Napoli reportedly demands €25m upfront, with the balance payable in two instalments, prompting Galatasaray to source additional funds. The urgency increased after their rivals, Fenerbahçe, showed interest in Osimhen through coach Jose Mourinho. Despite initial relief when the Nigerian striker stated, *”I am very happy here,”* Galatasaray are now focused on convincing Napoli to sell.
Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, has approached the transfer indirectly via agent Mirsad Türkcan. The club has sought sponsorship support, receiving positive feedback from some organisations. Although Fenerbahçe has not directly contacted Osimhen, they hope to leverage their strong relationship with Napoli, established during the Eljif Elmas transfer, to secure the striker.
Osimhen’s transfer represents a significant investment. With the transfer fee estimated at €75m, the player’s annual earnings, including image rights, total €12m. Any suitor will need to commit €36m over three seasons to secure his services.
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, alongside Kavukcu and Buruk, has formed a dedicated team to finalise the deal. They plan to meet George Gardi in Italy to discuss the transfer strategy.
Osimhen has already made a remarkable impact at Galatasaray since his arrival in September, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in nine matches across all competitions. This impressive form further underscores his value as both clubs vie for his signature.
