Harry Kane rescued a point for Bayern Munich with a stoppage-time equaliser, but their perfect start to the season ended in a 2-2 draw against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Union defender Danilho Doekhi struck twice, either side of a stunning solo goal from Luis Díaz, before Kane’s late effort — his 13th in 10 league games — ensured Bayern remained unbeaten.
Despite the draw, Bayern still lead the table by six points, with both RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund also dropping points on Saturday.
Bayern had won all 16 matches in all competitions this season — the best start ever recorded by a European top-five league side — but looked fatigued after playing with 10 men for most of Tuesday’s 2-1 win at Paris Saint-Germain.
Manager Vincent Kompany made just one change to the starting lineup, and the side appeared sluggish early on. Union had an early goal ruled out for offside before Doekhi put them ahead in the 27th minute, slotting past Manuel Neuer from close range.
Bayern levelled through Luis Díaz, who produced a moment of brilliance — keeping a ball in play, turning past a defender, and smashing home from a tight angle just before half-time.
Union regained the lead in the 83rd minute when Doekhi scored again, firing through a crowded box. But with Union on the verge of a first-ever win over Bayern, Kane struck in the 93rd minute to salvage a draw and extend his side’s unbeaten run.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund were held to a 1-1 draw at Hamburg, as Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer equalised deep into stoppage time. English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka had earlier given Dortmund the lead.
RB Leipzig also faltered, falling 3-1 at Hoffenheim. Teenage forward Yan Diomande opened the scoring, but Albian Hajdari, Tim Lemperle, and Grischa Prömel secured a comeback win for the hosts.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen cruised to their biggest win of the season, thrashing Heidenheim 6-0 at home. Patrik Schick and Ibrahim Maza each netted twice, with Jonas Hofmann and Ernest Poko also on target.
Borussia Mönchengladbach were set to face derby rivals Cologne later on Saturday.
