Putin issues a warning to NATO about World War III

by Admin

Russian President Vladimir Putin warns that a direct conflict between Russia and NATO would bring the world perilously close to World War III, reports Reuters.

Putin’s remarks followed his landslide victory in Russia’s presidential election, where he secured 87.8% of the votes.

However, the US, Germany, the UK, and other nations criticized the election, citing the imprisonment of political opponents and censorship.

During his post-election briefing, Putin stated, “It is evident to all that this would bring us one step closer to a full-scale World War Three. I doubt anyone desires this.” French President Emmanuel Macron previously mentioned the possibility of deploying ground troops in Ukraine.

When questioned about Macron’s remarks and the potential conflict between Russia and NATO, Putin remarked, “In the modern world, anything is possible.”

Putin also noted the presence of NATO servicemen in Ukraine, and earlier, he asserted Russia’s readiness for nuclear war, particularly if the US sends troops to Ukraine, which he views as a significant escalation.

In response, President Macron cautioned Putin against making threats, considering Russia’s possession of nuclear weapons. Macron mentioned a lack of recent communication with Putin but affirmed dialogue would occur “when necessary.”

In the US, officials noted no indication of Russia planning to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine in response to Putin’s statements.
