The family of late Nollywood actor, John Okafor, has set his burial date. Before his passing, Mr. Ibu’s leg was amputated due to an undisclosed illness he battled months earlier.
The family announced that the late actor will be buried in his hometown Amuri, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
A statement signed by Ibu’s brother, Elder Sunday Okafor, said the deceased would be honored as a hero.
“The Okafor family in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA in Enugu State celebrates the memory of our hero John Ikechukwu Okafor, who left a legacy of love and laughter.
“Your presence is requested as we lay to rest our son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle on June 28, 2024.
“Join us in sharing the final moments with our icon,” the statement said.
The burial ceremony begins on Tuesday, June 25th with a novelty match, followed by Mr. Ibu’s Night on Wednesday, June 26, featuring candlelight procession and live entertainment.
On June 27, a Christian Wake will be held at his home, while the funeral service is scheduled for June 28.
The five-day burial ends on Sunday, June 30, with a Church Thanksgiving for family, friends, and well-wishers.
