Police in Lilongwe, Malawi, have apprehended a 43-year-old Nigerian national on allegations of possessing 33 blisters of cocaine.
Central West Region Police deputy public relations officer, Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin, reported that the suspect, identified as Paul Chizetere Osuaha, was taken into custody around 22:30 hours on Friday, May 24, 2024, at Area 49 New Gulliver in the capital city.
“The officers caught the suspect at a location known as Pamowa while he was engaged in the sale of the illicit drug and subsequently escorted him to his residence,” stated the police spokesperson.
“A thorough search resulted in the discovery of 33 blisters of cocaine and K1 million in cash, which were promptly confiscated by the authorities.
“Osuoha has been charged with possession of a dangerous drug without a license,” he added.
He is scheduled to appear in court soon.
