Croatian coach Ivan Juric has been dismissed by Atalanta, with the club confirming his sacking on Monday, November 10, following two consecutive Serie A defeats that dropped the team into the bottom half of the table.
Sunday’s humiliating 3–0 home loss to Sassuolo proved the final straw, sending Atalanta down to 13th place and erasing the momentum from their earlier nine-match unbeaten run — a stretch that had already frustrated fans, as seven of those games ended in draws. Consecutive defeats to Udinese and Sassuolo sealed Juric’s fate.
In an official statement, Atalanta announced that Juric and his entire coaching staff had been relieved of their duties.
It marks another turbulent episode in Juric’s managerial career, coming after brief and troubled stints at Roma and Southampton. He resigned from Southampton in early April last year, shortly before the club became the earliest relegated side in Premier League history.
Juric had taken over from long-serving manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who departed Atalanta for Roma after nine successful years. While the club’s domestic form has faltered under Juric, they remain in contention in Europe, sitting 16th in the Champions League standings with seven points from four matches.
