Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has shared an update on Jamal Musiala following the midfielder’s injury during their FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
PSG secured a 2-0 win over Bayern with goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembélé.
Musiala was forced off the pitch on a stretcher after a heavy collision with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, raising concerns about a possible serious leg injury.
Speaking after the match, Kompany said the club is prioritising the best medical care for Musiala and suspects the injury may involve the ankle.
“The situation with Jamal was very emotional. We all saw what happened, and it didn’t look good,” Kompany said.
“We’re hoping it’s not as bad as it appeared, and that he gets the best medical attention. From watching the footage, it seems like an ankle injury, but I won’t jump to conclusions.”
