Trent Alexander-Arnold has praised Paris Saint-Germain as a formidable side but insists Real Madrid are confident they can beat any team.
Real Madrid booked their place in the semifinals of the ongoing 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S. after a dramatic 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund. Despite going down to 10 men, the Spanish champions held firm to see off Dortmund and will now face PSG in the next round.
Speaking after the match, Alexander-Arnold acknowledged PSG’s strength but maintained belief in his team’s ability.
“They’re champions of Europe for a reason. I’ve watched a few of their games — very strong team,” he said. “But we’re just too strong. We believe we can beat anyone.”
The former Liverpool star also shared his excitement about his journey so far with Real Madrid.
“It’s been an incredible experience. Playing with the best in the world — every time I step on the pitch, it feels like a dream come true,” he added.
Madrid initially took a 2-0 lead with goals from Gonzalo Garcia and Fran Garcia. Dortmund pulled one back through Maximilian Beier, and the match reached a boiling point in added time when Kylian Mbappe scored a stunning volley before Dean Huijsen received a red card for a foul on Serhou Guirassy, which led to a Dortmund penalty.
Despite the late drama, Madrid held on to advance, setting up a mouthwatering clash with PSG — who earlier defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
